Modi is so obsessed with the cleanup of India’s economy & corruption, that I really don’t think he is thinking about 2019.

Considering his primary vote bank is Gujarati traders & other members from the business community who would be affected significantly in the short term / medium term by this move, this is clearly not what one can call vote bank politics.

Rare & refreshing. Almost unheard of in democracies across world!
