Absolutely blown away by “Civilization to Nation” – the great Indian musical presented by the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre…. The next generation of live Entertainment is here.

“Civilisation to Nation” – in 2 words – MESMERISING & UPLIFTING!🥰

I’ve been in the Media and Entertainment industry for over 20 yrs. Have attended events and live shows in many countries on some of the world’s biggest stages – be it in the US (Broadway, Vegas, etc), France, Middle East, Cyprus, Egypt, Bermuda, et al.

And what I saw last night was comparable to any of them. Of course, the content and my bias towards the content made it one of the best live entertainment experiences of my life.

Seriously – the imagination, design sense, music, choreography, performances and most importantly, the technical brilliance to manage all this creatively was all FABULOUS.

And of-course, you need the venue to execute all this in. It needs to be big enough to rope in massive sets but also compact enough that the experience feels very close to the audience. And technically capable of executing all the fabulous imagination that all the techno-creative people of today bring to the table. The Grand Theatre at the NMACC is all that, and more.

No praise is enough for Feroz Khan, Ajay-Atul, Manish Malhotra, Vaibhavi Merchant and all the other choreographers, costume designers, scene designers, production designers, lighting designers, sound designers and not-to-be-forgotten the projection designers. Everyone was absolutely BRILLIANT. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

And special commemorations for the Ambanis. Having wealth & spending it on the arts is one thing. And making it your own, personally ensuring that the experience for the audience is of the quality that you believe this new modern India deserves, is another. Nita Ambani has done just that. Special thanks to her and the Reliance family for this. 👏🏻🙏🏻

I know the show is sold out for the rest of the days, but whenever it opens again, please make sure you catch it. This show is the next generation of live entertainment experiences. 😊👌🏻

P.S. Late night after the show was over and I was living with the post-show feeling, I was trying to recall if there ever has been a comparative feeling I have got after witnessing a live experience. And the only 2 other occasions I felt like this was after watching Sachin Tendulkar’s last test & retirement speech in Wankhede, and when watching India crush Pakistan at Old Trafford at the World Cup 2019.

P.P.S. Oh ya, Nita Ambani showed up at the end of the show, spoke about her vision for the NMACC and took the curtain call alongwith all the HODs of the show. Great surprise!
