So, a long time ago, when Kingfisher Airlines was still around, they used to have a Mumbai-Guwahati flight. I happened to be on one such flight and about a couple of hours into the flight, the pilot announced that it was a lucky day for the passengers sitting on the window seats of the left hand side of the plane, since it was a rather rare day when the air was very very clear and that we had the possibility of sighting Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga on this flight and that he was taking a minor detour from the standard flightpath. Luckily I was sitting on the left hand side window seat and while my vision was partially blocked by the wing, I still managed to get excellent sighting of both.
